PRAYER REQUESTS

Greetings in the Peace of Christ Jesus!

We are a traditional community of women who strive to serve God united under the Rule of Saint Benedict, in the tradition of the Catholic Faith "as preserved in the Catholic Creeds and maintained in the Catholic and Apostolic constitution of Christ’s Church from the beginning." (Archbishop Geoffrey Fisher)

We confess Jesus Christ to be the only way to God the Father.

What is more delightful than the voice of the Lord calling to us. See how the Lord in His love shows us the way of life. Let us set out on this way, with the Gospel for our guide, that we may deserve to see him who has called us to his kingdom. (RB Prologue 19-21)

As a primarily contemplative religious order, we are consecrated to Christ Jesus, and we follow His example to seek peace and union with God through prayer, silence, and solitude. We live together in community under the traditional Benedictine vows of obedience, stability and conversatio morum (conversion to monastic way of life).

The core of our prayer life starts with praying the Divine Office, which St. Benedict calls the Work of God. This work then includes sacred reading (lectio divina), and intercessory prayer.

Following the direction of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, we pray for peace, and we are also engaged in modest ministries in our community at large, working on behalf of the poor and disenfranchised.

"These things I have spoken unto you, that ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have over come the world." - words of Jesus Christ, John 16:33
